Golden Eagle Wrestling Club
Highlands Ranch, CO---The Golden Eagle Wrestling Club struck Gold this past weekend at Who's Bad National Classic in Denver, CO. Who's Bad is one of the largest mid-season national tournaments in the United States. There were over 1,500 wrestlers from 34 states comprised over 540 teams. The Golden Eagles sent 21 wrestlers to compete and this was their best team finish to date. In 2018, the Golden Eagles took 6th place and they bettered their performance by winning 2nd Place in the All-Star Division and coming in 3rd Overall.
Alex "Cross" McGowan repeated his tournament title by claiming tournament champion. He is the first Golden Eagle to repeat as tournament champion at this tournament.
In addition, Brave Dolan and Julian Tanner claimed tournament champions in the Rookie Division. Coach, Savanah Howard became the first female Golden Eagle to win a national title and very cool Champion Belt!

Colorado Strong Duals Update: We sent six wrestlers to the Colorado Strong Duals to help raise money for the Yake Family after they were in a tragic automobile accident on December 15th while returning from a wrestling tournament. The mother perished in the accident and three of their children (all wrestlers) were seriously injured.
The following wrestlers competed at the Colorado Strong Duals. We ended the up winning 3 duals beating Betterman Elite, Chatfield, and Ridge. They lost to Bear Cave, Legacy, and Mullen.

The next national event will be The Wild West Shootout in Gillette, WY on February 3rd. They will be preparing to return to defend their first-place team finish from 2018.
